1. Ownership
Calligrascape is a personally owned and operated website. I am the sole founder, content creator, editor, and administrator. No outside company, investor, or parent organization controls or funds this site.
Business Structure: Sole proprietorship
Registered Location: Port Hope, ON, Canada
2. Funding Sources
This website is funded entirely by:
- My own personal investment (time, equipment, supplies, hosting fees)
- Revenue generated directly from site activities (see Section 3 below)
I do not receive:
- Anonymous donations
- Undisclosed corporate sponsorships
- Government grants
- Crowdfunding (unless clearly labeled and voluntary)
If any external funding is accepted in the future, this policy will be updated and all funded content will be clearly labeled.
3. Revenue Streams
As of 1-JAN-2020, this website generates income through the following transparent means:
- Ad Revenue from YouTube (Ads will NEVER be on my website)
- Affiliate links I earn a small commission when you purchase via links to [e.g., Amazon, AliExpress]
- Digital products like Practice sheets, fonts, or course sales Product page
No revenue stream influences the honesty of my teaching or recommendations.
4. Editorial Independence
All tutorials, reviews, and educational content are created based solely on my professional judgment as a calligrapher and teacher. Financial relationships never determine:
- Which products I recommend
- How I rank tools or supplies
- Whether I include or exclude specific techniques
If such a day exists where I get a sponsor, and they request changes to a review, I will decline.
5. Transparency Commitment
- Every paid relationship is disclosed in plain language near the relevant content.
- I do not accept “pay for positive review” arrangements.
